How To Pick The Right Face Mask And What You Should Know About Them

At this point in time, the best way to stop the spread of Covid-19 is for everybody to wear a face mask. This is pretty simple, but at the same time, it can be uncomfortable and inconvenient. Which means that not as many people are wearing them as there should be.

Naturally, people have a lot of questions about masks. Like how to pick the right one and how safe they are to use are common. In this article, I will go over several things to keep in mind when picking the right face mask and what you should know about wearing one.

Types of face masks

Surgical mask vs. cloth mask is usually what people want to know about when they are deciding on which ones to buy. It would seem that a surgical mask would be the most effective since doctors wear it the whole day and have to be very careful about spreading germs to their patients.

Cloth masks, on the other hand, are easier to wear and more readily available. Not to mention that they can be washed and reused.

The key to remember is that you are not going to get 100% protection from either one. And you’re only protecting yourself and others if you actually wear one.

With that said, the mask should be comfortable to wear, so you actually do wear it as often as possible. This black earloop face mask is the type that many people can wear comfortably and is washable so you can get a lot of use out of it. It is also perfect for people that wear glasses as it won’t cause them to fog up.

It is safe to wear a facemask

There are many people out there that have concerns about the safety of actually wearing the face mask. The thinking is that they block oxygen and make it difficult to breathe. Not only that, but there are concerns about how effective they are at blocking the virus itself.

The typical cloth masks that people would wear are not dense enough to block people from breathing properly. Yes, it feels like you are struggling to breathe, but you are getting enough oxygen.

N95 masks, on the other hand, may make it difficult to breathe properly. This is especially true if you need to wear the mask for hours on end.

If you have respiratory issues, it can be a bit hard to breathe, but if this is the case, then you are in a high-risk group and shouldn’t be out with a mask at all.

Can you exercise with a mask?

When you exercise and need to take a deep breath, the mask can make this difficult. If you are alone or in the outdoors, away from others, then you should probably exercise without the mask. Lower it from your nose and mouth but make sure to lift it back up if you come within 6 feet of another person.
